Big ideas can start anywhere
InventMO is Missouri’s official Invention Convention state affiliate, powered by The Linda Hall. Students in grades 3 through 12 identify a problem, develop an idea, build and test a prototype, and share what they created. Educators get free curriculum and support to bring it into their educational setting.
Free to enter. No STEM background required.
All you need is a problem you care about.

Our mission
InventMO creates opportunities for Missouri students to become inventors and problem solvers and supports the educators who guide them.
Our vision
A Missouri where every student, in every town and every educational setting, sees themselves as an inventor.

How it works
Every InventMO inventor follows the same seven steps:
Step
01
Identify: Become aware of problems in your life or community.
Step
02
Understand: Conduct research to identify a unique solution.
Step
03
Ideate: Develop a project plan for the invention.
Step
04
Design: Decide how to make the invention.
Step
05
Build: Construct a prototype.
Step
06
Test: See how the invention works, and revise the design as needed.
Step
07
Communicate: Write about the invention, and present it to others.
Your first idea doesn’t have to be perfect.
That’s what the process is for.
